Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 October 2026
LaVault is operated by LaVault Pty Ltd (ABN 37 703 220 802, ACN 703 220 802), an Australian company ("LaVault", "we", "us"). By creating a listing, making a purchase, or otherwise using lavault.com (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. What LaVault is
LaVault lets a seller turn a photo of an item into a shareable link that a buyer can use to pay for and purchase that item. LaVault is a technology platform that connects buyers and sellers and facilitates payment between them — LaVault does not own, inspect, warehouse, or ship any item listed on the Service, and is not the seller of any item unless explicitly stated otherwise.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to list an item for sale on LaVault. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, and for keeping access to your account (your email sign-in) secure.
3. Selling on LaVault
As a seller, you agree that:
- You own, or have the legal right to sell, everything you list.
- Your listing's title, description, photo, and price accurately represent the item.
- You will ship the item to the buyer promptly after a sale completes, using the shipping details provided at checkout.
- You will not list anything illegal, stolen, counterfeit, hazardous, or otherwise prohibited by law or by our payment processor's rules.
- You are responsible for any taxes owed on your sales.
4. Buying on LaVault
When you buy an item, you're purchasing directly from the seller who listed it — LaVault facilitates the transaction and payment but is not a party to the sale itself. You agree to provide accurate payment and shipping information at checkout.
5. Payments and fees
Payments are processed by Stripe. By using LaVault, you also agree to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement and Services Agreement. LaVault charges sellers a commission on each completed sale (currently 5% of the item price, or 2.5% for the first 500 sellers to connect their payouts ("founding sellers"), for their first 12 months from the date they qualify; plus a monthly account fee of $2.00 in the listing's currency, taken from your first sale in any month in which you make a sale, which helps cover the cost of operating your payout account; there is no fee in months you make no sale; minimum listing price $10.00). Buyers pay a separate service fee at checkout that covers payment processing. The seller commission and any account fee are deducted automatically before the remaining balance is paid to the seller. This commission rate may change; we'll do our best to give notice of any change before it applies to new sales.
6. Refunds and disputes
Refunds and delivery disputes are between the buyer and seller in the first instance. Card-network disputes (chargebacks) are handled through Stripe according to its standard process. LaVault may, at its discretion, remove a listing or suspend an account involved in a dispute, fraud, or a violation of these Terms.
7. Limitation of liability
LaVault is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, LaVault is not liable for the condition, legality, quality, or delivery of any item listed or sold through the Service, or for any loss arising from a transaction between a buyer and seller. Nothing in these Terms excludes any consumer guarantee or right under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for anyone who violates these Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia.
